Abstract

The objective of this study is to describe the research findings on mathematical literacy in the PISA framework. The methodology employed in this study is the Systematic Literature Review (SLR). A total of 12 studies examining mathematical literacy in the PISA framework were included in the sample, spanning the years 2005 to 2023. The research findings were evaluated according to the frequency by journal ranking, year of publication, level of education, country, aspect, and method of study on mathematical literacy in the PISA framework. Employing the SLR methodology with a Scopus database, the study revealed that the research published in Scopus Q2 had the highest number of published studies in international journals, with the highest level of education being conducted at the junior high school level and publication time mostly in 2023. The majority of these studies were conducted in Indonesia and the methods of mathematical literacy research in the PISA framework primarily focused on four research methods: quantitative, qualitative, mixed method, and design research. The study revealed that the quantitative method was presented in 50% or studies, the qualitative method was presented in 8% or studies, the mixed method was presented in 8% or studies, and the design research method was presented in 34% or studies.
