Analysis of Ethnoscience Research Opportunities in Science Education: A Systematic Literature Review

This study uses a systematic literature review based on the PRISMA method. The data used are research articles with the theme of ethnoscience. Based on the results of filtering and keyword analysis, 23 articles were obtained from 1967 to 2024. This study aims to analyze trends and research findings related to ethnoscience in science education through a systematic literature review using the PRISMA method. Articles were collected from the Scopus database, resulting in 100 articles, 23 of which met the analysis criteria. The findings indicate that ethnoscience-based learning plays an important role in helping students solve complex problems and develop 21st-century skills. However, research that focuses on the development of ethnoscience-based learning media is still lacking, with most studies concentrating on teaching models and materials. These results highlight the need for further research on interactive learning media that integrate ethnoscience to increase student engagement and understanding. This study shows that ethnoscience-based education can be a powerful tool for promoting cultural relevance in science learning and offers valuable insights for future curriculum development, and ethnoscience-based science learning helps students understand phenomena comprehensively.Downloads
