The challenges in implementing character education in schools have driven numerous studies in Indonesia's education sector. One approach to implementing character education is by integrating it into general learning, including biology lessons. This study aims to explore innovations in biology learning that incorporate character values. The research uses a literature review method, analyzing findings from 45 studies published in Indonesian scientific journals indexed in Sinta 1-3 over the past five years, from 2019 to March 2024. This method aims to identify, summarize, and synthesize relevant findings on this topic. The research results revealed the following data: The most common type of research is quantitative and Research and Development (R&D), aimed at developing pedagogical aspects in terms of approaches, methods, models, or character value-based biology learning media. The trending topics in biology learning include the integration of character values into environmental and biodiversity subjects. The research subjects are diverse, ranging from junior high school students, high school students, university students, teachers, lecturers, to the general public, with the most frequently studied group being 10th-grade high school students. Additionally, the most commonly integrated character value is environmental care. Based on these findings, several suggestions are proposed to help educators and future researchers create innovative biology learning environments that incorporate character education.Downloads
