Exploring Teacher Agency Research: A Systematic Review

In education field, the quality of teachers has a significant role in students’ learning. In the same side, exploring teacher agency in this context has been focused on by researchers. The purpose of this paper is to review the science education studies during the period of 2019-2023 related to teacher agency, and to suggest the possible teacher agency model for the further study. 16 peer-reviewed articles were analyzed qualitatively based on the three aspects; context of the research, source of data, and the model of agency. First, context of the research refers to location and the grade levels of the teachers in this study. Second, sources of data collected in reviewed articles were identified three types of them: interviews, observations, and artifacts.
